Koni FSD Dampers
KONI introduces the first no-compromise shock absorber in the world. In other words: a complete turn around in road-holding. Until recently you only had a choice between shock absorbers that were either more firm or more comfortable. Cars with firm suspension do have better road-holding but there is a trade-off in the level of comfort. Cars with soft suspension are more comfortable but have disadvantages in terms of optimum road-holding.

KONI FSD: Frequency Selective Damping. A revolutionary new technique whereby the benefits of both types of ride are combined in one perfect shock absorber. Banishing the disadvantages of the past.

FSD shock absorbers: a smart suspension system adjusting automatically to road conditions as well as driving style.

Havent got them but, Ive heard thay are spot on on standard springs 

 However i went to the autosport show at the NEC 2 weeks ago and spoke to the man on the koni stand.
 He said thay are no good for cars with lowering springs. He did inform me that koni are working on an fsd shock especially for cars with lowering springs and it should be available in a year or so

I know you can use fsd's with lowering spring people have done it: the man from koni just doesnt recommend it.
I would go for koni yellow sport dampers or eibach pro dampers and defo get some lowering springs to sort out the body roll of the fat mk4

Got them on my Mk5, really good and I would reccommend them and use them myself again.

FYI I have lowered springs also and they are fine with this, I think the problem is when they are lowered too much.  FSD and Eibach are a perfect match and this is sold in a set but others like H&R (which give the same drop) are prefectly fine.

Koni FSD`s and Eibach Pro springs

These are £315.00 + VAT for FSD`s and £121.86 + VAT for the Eibach pro springs

Fitting would be £167.50 + VAT and this includes the geo set up and adjust

This would take approx 4 hours including the geo

 

Then do the Powerflex wishbone bushes

Front bushes £13.55 each + VAT requires 2

Rear bushes £15.25 each + VAT requires 2

Fitting of the bushes £99.00 + VAT

Takes 2 hours (would require a geo done , but as you are having the springs and shocks fitted we have already got the price and time in fitting the springs and shockers)

 

Front ARB

This is the front subframe off

£185.00 + VAT for the front bar , this is a larger one @ 25mm instead of the 19mm as standard

£99.00 + VAT for fitting , again would require geo set up , but this is in the springs and shockers

Labour on this is 2 hours

 

Rear ARB

There are 2 sizes to choose from 25mm @ £185.00 + VAT or 28mm for £195.00 + VAT

Both are very good and this will bring you a major improvement to the back end as your car does not have one as standard

Some people say it can be a tad harsh with the large one , others say ‘ only £10.00 difference you may as well go for the larger one

Either way this is up  to you , if it was me , I would do the 25mm one

Labour on this would be £49.50 + VAT

yeah cheers, cheaper than getting a new car with better handling so thought id see what could be done.

already putting about 200 through a remap so if this works out well, itll be the best of both worlds.

im just a little concerned it will be uncomfy !

I have H&R + FSD's and its firmer but still comfortable and not too bad at all, handles better mind you so you there is always a little give and take.
