personally I like the sound of bass from subs, so my cars have always had one in.  Maybe not 2x1200 watt sony xplodes tho... lol

Nothing wrong with subs as long as you have the treble and clarity to back it up, nothing worse then pure bass and nothing else!
Will always love my mk4 but she had to go...225 Quattro TT in its place....but its still black (she lives on in spirit!)

if you want to have a full range of sound in your car then you need a sub, saying a sub is chav is like saying anyone with a 5.1 cinema setup is a chav

having the sub ramped right up, windows down playing cd's from the front of max power is chav though, whilst in halfords car park is 110% chav though.

Personally i'd say 2 * 8" subs on a stealth shelf is enough to add the missing dimension to the sound, but then it depends on your music taste really.

iv always had subs in cars too. Cant do with out them. I find when i didnt have em i didnt miss em but if i get into a car with no bass now it sounds tinny.

You can do lots better than sony imo though. Id like to see 1200 watts trough them - toasty

Clearly, who has a sub on display? Stick it in the boot surley?
