Chirping noise on start up.

Hello fellas, after a bit of advice. My misses has got an A3 with the 1.8 20v like many of you have, and its makes a funny chirping noise just after start up. Sounds like it could be the starter motor but this was changed not that long ago, any ideas? thanx in advance.

On my Mk2, my [ageing] fan/alternator belt chirps a little bit for a few seconds on startup until its warm. Could it be this?

99% it will be dust in the starter motor have a look at this

Cheers, will check the belt first as its easier, the dust thing does sound possible but I'm sure the motor is less than 12 months old, could it have this problem so soon?

Quick update,  took the starter motor off earlier and to be honest it didn't look to dirty and I was beginning to think it wasn't the problem. I thought now I've got it off I might as well strip it, clean it and regrease as the link explains, and it fixed it everythings spot on so thanks very much for your help and advice richw911
