mk3 rear brake calipers

hi wondered if any one could help
trying to change rear brake pads on a 92 mk3 gti....to retract the piston it says in the manual to screw it in clockwise....my piston will come out if i screw it antoclockwise but doesnt move inwards if i go clockwise,,,have tried wedging it in/ g-clamp etc but it doesn't budge...any suggestions?

apply pressure at the same time as you turn clockwise, its fighting against the fluid, just needs some help, just remember to take the slack out when you fit the new pads, they should slide over the disc nice and tight, too much slack will use your fluid up on auto adjust.

you'll need to crack the bleed nipple or reservoir cap loose, otherwise you wont get anywhere.  Also if you dont have the proper tool you wont get anywhere with it either, you need this:

I just removed the brake fluid res lid and wound mine in with an adjustable set of pipe grips. Ensure though that you don't damage the seal when doing so.

ive found a 9" grinder spanner excellent for winding the pistons back in the one for tightening the grinding disk nut cheers Dave

use the proper tool. it makes life so much easier. alothough one of my rear calipers was a twit to wind back. it hadnt worn the pads unevenly though. so at least it wasnt seized
