hey guys,
i am going to be changing the colour of my car, aswell as fettling with it
here it is in its current guise:

here is my vision:

parts ordered:
r32 replica bumper in abs plastic
r32 5dr skirts (fibreglass)
anniversary rear splitter(fibreglass)
tailgate and genuine r32 spoiler
badgeless grille
3"down pipe and decat
o2 sensor spacer
abd t.i.p
genuine vw centre, left and right r32 bumper grilles
genuine vw r32 dirt shield extensions
coilovers
wheels
aero wipers
zena racing pipes
fmic
mbc

the plan:
from the front:
r32 bumper, debadged bonnet( welded in fill), rear door handles removed, rear bumper smoothed rub strips, but not the splitter. then a full colour change
i have colours in mind but i will keep the newest findings secret, but it will now be a xirillic pigment which are mega £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£33 lol
and i think thats it
ps this was the last respray i did:
http://www.imprezasport.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=12685&hl=frosty+snowman
and maybe a car some of you may have seen???

this is a running progress, im actually up to the build up stage now, to see the original thread look here

everything else is pastence lol
managed to spend a little time on the car this aft,
i was going to remove the boot handle completely, then i saw v2slo's boot where he just had the handle showing, this got me thinking,
i was going to get a 3rd tailgat, remove the lock and keep the handle, then use part of the tailgate to make it look like factory, but then i decided against,
v2slos car was fine, apart from i think the handle was off centre, and as im keeping the vw logo i had to move mine across
pics

front bumper

rear bumper
spent this dinner time plastic welding the rear bumper up, took an age lol.
still needs a good old grinding, but the piece is stuck in there lol. tommorrow dinner i'll get the bigger grinder out and hopefully

bonnet

car

i think the key is tying things in to each other, little details make a big difference.
i mean im also tying a carbon theme in too, i have carbon mirrors, then im hoping to use carbon for the door black outs, then i just bought this to tie up inside

intercooler came in, looks mint, need to decide where its going though,

im 90% sure im staying with white, yousee the problem is pearls work by having light shone upon them, now on a cloudy day, the car will look like a solid white, on a sunny day it will glisten. and at night it will glisten too.
i am happy with the ground colour, as its bright white, the pearl is going to be the sfx pigment, just more of it.
on a side note get a corrado- there is a mint purple one near me, its super sweet.
and on another side note, i have just bought some jamex coilovers-yeah.
now can i just get drop links or do i need an anti roll bar, and if so does anyone have one????????

suede arrived this morning, for the roof lining, looks really nice, another job to the list hahaha
got the car ready for the shuts to be done tonight (hopefully) loads of work in at the momonet hahah

i fitted my carbon gear leaver and gaitor, i aslo trimmed 1.5" off the gear leaver to give it a shorter through, a lot better than wasting umpteen £Â£Ã‚£'s on a short shifter, did this mod to the lcr and it works a charm lol

got the car parts edged up, and put on. well most of them, tomorrow the boot lid goes on as does the rea bumper nd bonnet, then its time to flatand paint

i started prepping the car at 12, im now onto the first coat of clear,
progress so far
masked up ready to go

ground coat laid down

base coat laid down

man im fooked, back is aching like mad lol
oh well its done, 6 litres of clear

to get to this stage has taken just over a week of hard graft lol. i will keep this thread updated as i go on from mow lol

Just thought I'd help with the photo's as I was eager to have a look, but couldn't be arsed to open all the applications!

Looks good, white seems to be the new black, and your handy work looks spot on!

Looks good mate, I smoothed my recess and blended the rear splitter just so it gives it that smooth look!

Keep the good work up!
Will always love my mk4 but she had to go...225 Quattro TT in its place....but its still black (she lives on in spirit!)
