My Golf......mmmmmmmm
« on: 16 January 2008, 18:52 »
I hope the pictures are viewable..... This is my Wife Golf GTi. This is also the BEST colour for the golf, we all have different taste, but as you will agree the colour goes well with the wheels.
Now I don't wish to start a whole new thread on re-mapping.... but give me the quick, and in your oppinions, best option for mapping! (sales pitch please!)

Lovely colour - nearly as fast as Silver

APR or REVO are the remaps I'd go for. Make sure you get a before and after Rolling road done too (proves the outputs).

I recon I was asking the following.. Is it better to get the re map which is switchable on the cruise control or the one where you seem to plug in a box and change it from there? Also would there be any need to change back to the original settings as I do mainly town driving. I also read that MPG can go up with the right re map, could this be true?

How about that pitch: "But dear, with a remap you can get [whereever she usually goes] quicker."

Switchable through the Cruise is better IMO.

You'll not notice much difference between the two maps whilst pootling through town. The reason being that on the power curve, the remap doesn't differ significantly until you are ove 3k revs. You probably will not notice any difference in fuel consumption around town either. :nerd:

Lovely car

On the topic of remaps, my dad's thinking of remapping his GTi with Morego as they look pretty good.
Whats everyone reckon to them?
I think they can get 270 out of a non-ed30 with a Miltek and a few other bits and bats  :undecided:

Thanks for posting the pics, I have one on order that in that colour!  I think it's the best colour out of them all!

What options did you go for?  (obviously the 18's from what I can tell)
