Havent got a side view pic here, but they look bigger when its dropped, you got to remember my car is on 1.4 suspension, which is 30mm higher than a standard gti - coilies will on in the next week or so (hopefully!)

fork out for a GTI;

what perplexes me is that you got more money for mods than you have insurance??  :huh: surely it should be the other way around?? and besides you can always save up and do a mod every couple of months.  thats what i tend to do  :smiley:  managed to complete most of what i've wanted to do in less than 2 years which i don't see as being a great length of time

Hmm, recently discovered Bell insurance will do the Golf 115bhp for an extra £100 to my current car, so that's worth looking at..

If I get the GTi, I guess I'll save that £100 on the colour coding, but would need to look for different springs etc..

What's a good mileage to look for? I was originally thinking 30k, but golfs drive on forever and i'll be doing 15k a year.. Should I be looking for one in the 50's 60's and be safe with it all?

I have a GTi 115 at the min. its on an 03 plate with 45000 stands me at 6k. you should get as lower mileage as you can afford.

i just ordered an ajustable lowering kit yesterday and the modified arb for 597 delivered. lots of pennies indeed but i wanted desent kit so as not to be doing it again soon.

Also, did you know that if you go lower than 40mm there is a chance the drive shafts will rub on the standard arb. (apologies if you already knew)
