Tidying engine bay.
« on: 14 January 2008, 21:04 »
Hi all, got a few questions. Firstly, here's a picture of my engine bay on my 1.8 Driver. I want one of those incredibly tidy engine bays with all the wiring tidily away, etc. but I've NO idea how I'd do this! I want that kind of show car style look where everything is nice and neat and shiney. How? :)

Also, whats the deal with samco coolant hoses? Why are they so rediculously expensive for a few hoses? What's their advantages? Are they really worth getting/is there a cheaper alternative?

And a link to my car: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=74195.0

:) Thanks

less prone to splits at high temps and as most mk2's run hot, esp the 16v's think thats why....

terms of the tidying good luck!

I imagine it's going to be pretty difficult to get a show car looking engine bay without ripping the whole lot out and starting again

You could start by spraying the radiator cowl in hammertite, i've just done mine and it starts tidying it up no end. Maybe a battery cover off ebay as well. It would be hard to get your engine in show condition without taking it out...
