woosh £3.8k what you planning on doing Hurdy sounds a serious bit of kit.
surely a 4 pot set up would be more than enough for a mapped ed30.
The ceramics are tempting. What I deliberately didn't mention was that they aren't widely used (for obvious £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£ reasons) and are therefore relatively untested. I will end up going for a standard rotor as competition spec "put your face through the windscreen" brakes are a bit excessive.
I had originally made my mind up on the ECS stage 5 brake kit, but as it is basically a Porsche Cayenne stopper I'm not too keen. Porsche brakes are good, but have been known to bind and lock on as well as squeal. The search continues
Having big brakes is one thing.. but stopping is usually limited to the level of grip your tires have. Believe me I have had mine lock up on me many a time. Its not bigger brakes you need... its another tire
I'm not just talking about sheer stopping power, I'm also talking about brake fade issues and the ability to brake later when I do trackdays.
I guess thats fair enough. Only spending nearly 4k on brakes is crazy talk!! You seem to have got the stronger strain of the Gti retuning bug i thinks!
You must be getting close to S3 money now Hurd??
