installing golf mk3 vr6 split back seat into mk 2 golf gti

Hi,can anyone help me,I am trying to fit a mk3 golf back seat which splits,into my golf mk2 gti,do I need to cut out a pair of bottom clips from a mark 3 golf to secure the round clips on the end of the seat,so that it can pivot down and be fixed securely in the car.I will be very greatfull for any advise,thank you.

pretty much what you said mate ... angle grind out the bottom clips fro the mk3 and then weld them ont your mk2
