Anyone have a squeak from the rear of there car?
I have this squeak which is reminiscent of my Pug CTi days. After a trip to the VW garage on the last service, I got the usual answer of “we found the squeak, it was the rear seat which needed tightening up!†comment. Long story short, the squeak was still present so I decided to investigate myself. The noise only happens when I go over a speed bump….. i.e. when the body flexes. It turns out the parcel shelf, “pin†the bit that fits into the slot on the car body. This “pin†I don’t know the correct word so am calling it the “pin†has a rubber ring round it and when I go over a bump the rubber on the “pin†rubs on the slot of the car, which is also rubber.
Now the question is this, what do you suggest I use to lubricate the two rubber parts and stop them from squeaking?
