I'd still have a go, whether it was wet or dry - even if it was just to confirm that I can't keep up in the wet

Anyway I've got a CG-Lock now and the guy who sold it me said it was like handing me another 50bhp

It basically is an add on to your seatbelt which allows you to lock the bottom lap section of the seatbelt to keep your butt where it is supposed to be. It gives the driver the ability to focus on the road without having to constantly re-adjust his arse and belt. See the link below.

Lol! One of the lads at work just got an new R32, and it does sound sublime. Not had the oppochancity to have some banter with him on the twisties, but reckon on a dry day, the likes of the Ed30/Cupra would have a god chance of passing/staying ahead of the R32 . On a wet day, the Ed30/Cupra need not bother trying.
Just beware that they take quite a while to open up... the last time i drove mine which was about 5wks ago was considerably faster than when i bought it. Looking forward to it hitting the 10k and beyond!!!

....A few of my friends have got Mk4 R32's and I was in one at the weekend. They're all heavily modified. That V6 on Millteks is a sound to die for!! Better than the Mk5 .:R sound. I was in one on Sunday and the interior is far more luxurious than any Mk5. The drive feel is much 'looser' and the power isn't felt in the same way as my modded Mk5 GTI. One of these Mk4 .:R friends is blue light and military qualified and about to be an instructor - It's about the driver as much as the car in my opinion.

"cough" "cough".... Funny guy! i guess its down to opinion but i think that the MKV's sound alot better than the MKiV's. I had mine and a mates next to each other.. and everyone there decided that it did. Im not sure about the Miltek conversion because neither of them did.

As for the interior being more luxurious than the other one... i dont think so!! Had them both so i think my opinion is fairly valid. The ride on the old R32 is also not up to the standard of the MKV. Its simply miles ahead of the competition with this..

THe hot hatch group i guess... i dont know... pick one out of the hat!! The ride of the R32 is simply so much more planted and less harsh than any of the other I test drove.
