GTI broke down today. Fuel pressure regulator faulty
« on: 08 January 2008, 22:33 »
 The wife phoned this evening "car won't start" she says, "must be her" I'm thinking! But no it's faulty! Turns over but won't start. VW assistance came out to me within an hour and I have to say they were very good and spent over an hour trying to fix the red rocket. It turned out the 'fuel pressure regulator' is faulty and blowing a fuse. The dealer had closed for the day so the VW guy towed me home. The dealer is to collect early doors tomorrow and a hire car is to be dropped off. Anyone else had this fault?

Jim-not so fast now!

I had the same symptoms on my last GTi - but different cause

Mine had a faulty "entry" control box module or something.  Car would turn over, nearly start and immediately die
