throttle body cleaned and realigned?
timing checked??
boost pipes checked for cracks and splits??

have you tried running some injector cleaner through??

sorry if these seem obvious but it may help pinpoint your problem

also are you using a genuine MAF?

i have tried redx to clear the injectors but no joy and i have had all pipes checked for cracks and splitsbut all seem ok, i would take it to VW dealer but last time got stung for £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£s. I guess its a bite the bullet job and ask a dealer? maybe its time to sell.

If his coil packs have packed in, there is no way he could have lived with it for year. When mine went it drove me insane after a few hours !

can you get a list of the fault codes you've had, and you say you've checked hoses for splits but has it all been pressure tested?

Hi All
Thanks for all the replys, when it first started it felt like a miss fire as time has gone on it has got worse so now when i pull away the rev counter looks like a yoyo. I dont think the coil packs have been changed and the pipes have been tested under pressure, i'm really greatfull for all your help and the more suggestions i get the more i can test but starting to run low on funds as all the garages that have worked on it have charged. please help guys before i have to give her up.

If its the coilpacks then go there slap them all in the face and ask for your money back. There is no way they would not be able to have diagnosed that they had gone. Heres hopeing its not the coilpacks lol
