i think ive found a 2lt bottom end for my rebuild   its a ABK with dizzy and bits n bobs .says its 45degree block would this be fine for my pb head

hey i saw that on ebay aswell!lol i should think it will be ok as long as you use a mk2 golf sump and oil pick up pipe!

well if the engine comes out of a car thats mounted longditudinaly, the sump and pickup is differant as it sits at a differant angle.

the dizzy i now about  cheers guys

dubslug_ do u have a big valve head .wot gains will i get from this.  been to c my mate tonite hes s**t hot with engines

hes guna use my other head and open it up also my manifolds port n polish the lot. hes a great friend (painted my red golf for nothing) ov course i saw him right

he was asking if its worth big valving the head. dont wana spend a fortune doin this for little hp gains
 
just reconning my other box get my other head done new 2lt block will be already to put in when done.   

also putting in a cam (fast road) is this a good option and a chip.

if i missed anything i should know any mods etc will be very welcome

I had my short block balanced; crank, fly and con-rods. Made a lot of difference, rev's smoothly and idles lovely and if you are putting in a fast cam the power band will probably be higher so you will be spending more time at higher RPM's! a worth while upgrade for these older engines!

how much did it cost you to get it balanced a rough price is expected as with different specialists ect

wooh won the block. £90 with 10k wear  sorted it will soon all come together.
