should it b there or is it a call to VW?
I have it on mine also, not a lot and not all the time, mines a 2008 model ed30 with 6k miles on the clock. I thought I'd check the manual first and low and behold it does state in there under controls and equipment, booklet 3.1, page 56, lights and vision the following;
In cool or damp weather, the headlights may mist over briefly on the inside, this is caused by the difference in temperature between the inside and outside surfaces of the headlight lens. When the dipped beam is switched on, the headlight lens will clear quickly in front of the light source. The sides of the lens may remain misted over. The tail light and turn signals could also be affected. This does not affect the service life of the lights on your vehicle
I hope this helps, after all I have had many cars that have had this and all have been ok once the dipped beam is on
