HI guyz just need some help urgently, my Mk1 recently broke one controll arm ( V-arm ) and had them replaced, but when the cars is straight the steering is skew not straight, i did do the alignment and balacing. I'm thinkin' maybe the steering rack needs tightening or something
Anybody knows whats the prob?

Do you mean that when you are going in a straight line the steering wheel is not central?

Yeah, coz even when i'm steering in whatever direction, the cars takes a bit to turn!!!

could be the ball joint wasn't fitted in the right spot, or the camber is out. Did you unbolt the hub from the suspension strut?

Sorry im not sure what the guy did and didn't do, I don't think he unbolted the hub, what is your best advice @ da moment coz i'm not sure whether using the car, am i damaging other things or not!!

check the position of the ball joint in the wishbone, compare it to the other side. If that checks out get yourelf a haynes and check the track rod lengths, make sure the fixed side is set to specs. Then get the camber checked out, if all that comes back ok, just make sure the tracking is set fine and pop the wheel off & recentre it
