Can you believe these GTI lap times???

1st place Audi RS4             1.06.4
2nd place Focus ST            1.07.3
3rd place Golf GTI              1.07.5

7th place Lotus 111r          1.08.3

9th place BMW M5             1.08.4

14th place 911 Carrera S     1.09.2

17th place Ferrari 599GTB    1.09.9

30th place Lotus 2-eleven    1.11.5

32nd place Porsche 911 turbo 1.11.5

43rd place Lamborghini LP640 1.16.5

44th place BMW M3              1.16.9

45th place 911 GT3               1.19.1

I know we all love our GTI's and like to think that they're the fastest thing on four wheels but a Golf GTI being 12 seconds a lap faster than a 911 GT3 and 9 seconds a lap faster than an LP640?

What's that all about??

Does anyone know the track layout? From those times I would guess it's tight and twisty with short straights.

With all due respect, I cant see how the ST and the GTI are faster than the 991, M-Series, Lambo and Ferraris. Just sounds pretty impossible to me.

This is the WHC at MIRA. It was probably the layout at the top left they used. It is possible as the big power cars would struggle to get the power down in the wet. Over such a short distance that does seem a big gap though.

Either that or Lewis Hamilton was driving the Focus and Golf and my Grandpa drove the others. He can't see at the best of times, never mind in the rain. He also needs other cars to bounce off to help judge distance.

Wet or dry a golf gti wouldnt be quicker than a gt3 which is a track car. dream on

I have to agree that those lap times looked like they were pulled out of a hat!! There are quite a few cars there with 4WD that have bags of power and no problems putting it down.
