Which bit is the B pillar? Is that like the bit near where the front seatbelt is bolted to?

The pillars from the front of the car are denoted A, B and C.

A is windscreen
B is door pillar
C is the rear pillar

i reckon it's been an idea VW have had for a 2nd door mechanism - which would basically stop the window frame being bent out by would be thiefs.

so the handle would release two locks rather than the std one

i had a look on the ETKA to see if there was a part for it, but it just had the black grommits for the hole

it's for the US style seatbelts that tighten when you get in. weird f**king design though.

I think I'm gonna get it removed anyway when it next visits the bodyshop. just to tidy it up.

btw, Danny Allen told me that.

Yeah, I can vouch for that, I have a 91 US golf I use as a donor car. Don't ask me how it got over here or why. :)
The thing wouldn't start until you put your seatbelt on ;D

I think they plug then into the socket near the mirror and then they go along the top of the door and hold you tight like that.
