Lovely car GG, very very similar spec to what I'm hoping to order except mine with DSG and no sunroof.

Just wondered if you've spoken to your dealer about this Fixed Price Service Plan which VW are currently offereing?  http://www.vw.co.uk/new_cars/servicing

I started a seperate thread about it here to see if anyone has come across it already: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=73562.0

Cheers

Yeh I've already mentioned it (so many people have asked!)....

Originally I was going for an R32 as a natural progression from what I have.  The salesman asked if I'd considered the Edition 30 and I had ruled it out without looking into it thinking it would be too much of a step down from what I had.  I decided on the spec of the new R32, got quotes etc. and was ready to proceed when I thought I'd look into the Ed30 just to satisfy myself that I had considered it.

On paper, performance isn't that different and running costs would be cheaper etc. I test drove both cars back to back and the Ed30 impressed me more than I thought it would.  I put everything into consideration, weighed up the pros and cons and the Ed30 was the better all-rounder.  Sure, I'll miss the V6 burble and the 4WD but the Ed30 ticked all the other boxes.

I also think it looks better than the R32, and has a bit more exclusivity about it.  I fancy trying a bit of turbo power as well.  If I don't get on with it then the R32 is always there to fall back on, but at least I can say I've tried it and won't look back in the future saying "what if".

yeah i agree
aside from the high cost of petrol, parking permit and road tax there`s not a lot wrong with the r32 (although some don`t like the looks)..............................

If R32 were S3 with the price of R32 - I'd get it. I like the TFSI plant.
