Springy thing under the drivers seat thing...

OK, so I am not a techie like the majority of you on here..and remember it's my wifes car anyway..

However I was allowed to drive it to the beach yesterday and I noticed whilst scrabbling around under the drivers seat for a stray coin that a large spring had 'come adrift'. Next to it was a small piece of cast metal and a piece of broken plastic.

The seat works in all planes and there are no obvious faults?

Any ideas team?

this has happened to me aswell ... the seat all seems to work fine including the height adjustment just the only difference i seem to notice is that to "pump" up the seat it takes a lot more effort than before!

Yes thanks they all seem to work fine. I've been underneath...my what a lot of space you have to work in....and I can see where it all goes...main exciting part appears to be a ratchet which has a lot to do with pumping the seat up and down. It certainly doesn't appear to have anything to do with the pre-tensioners and that was my initial concern..I guess my good lady will have to pump harder..
