Preping Ready For SprayingRight i firstly i hate the wood effect who's stupid idea was it that thought hmmm that would be the cherry on top for a GTI,
First things first take out all the surrounds these should just clip of except the ashtray cover after i ripped mine out without breaking it i dont know,
but under the ash tray there is a tourqe swew just undo this and it will all slide out the back.
The cup holder just unclips either side like headunit i found the tool that comes with a headunit very usefull to get it out,
so when i had finished i ended up with this

The next step was to start preping them so i went to B & Q and got myself a multipack of wet and dry
sandpaper

I used the 180 paper to key the surface
for first lot of primer that i was going to apply
(smaller the number on the sandpaper the more course it is).
Heres everythings ready for priming- (Make sure you wipe the excess dust off everything first, do this with a wet cloth or somthing)

When everything was clean i started to prime, i used a palsti-kote plastic primer again from B & Q
think it was like £5 or something like that.
i actually thought it would be grey but its clear oh well...

And heres the result after the first coat,

I left it to dry for about 2hrs or so then i sanded it down again but this time with a finer grade,
then i gave it another coat
thats as far as im upto at the moment,
ive got to get my finishing coat sorted thinking of a matt black i will try and finish it
tommorow if my head lets me

.
