mk3 brake calipers....just a quicky

hi im soon to be going on the ponce up the scrappy for some rear mk3 calipers

my question is.....

are all mk3 calipers compatible with the mk2 gti? or does it have to be a mk3 gti?

Any Mk3 with rear discs will work.   The early Mk3 calipers are the same as the Mk2 ones so try for a later one. Don't know when they changed though....  The later ones have the handbrake spring on the inside.

they changed to the newer mk3 caliper for 96 model year!! (ones with 288mm front discs).. mine has the older mk2 type calipers on a 95model....and the handbrake sticks on!!

Need conversion hoses to fit though, different brake pipe fittings between mk2 and mk4

true, cost £25 for the lines, braided... just saying if theres a smacked up mk4 worth a look. could always take them then if u dont want to buy the adapter lines, sell them on

resurecting an old(ish) thread but...

Has anyone got a list of rear clipers that will fit onto a Mk2 Golf?
My calipers are fooked again after 12 months, so want osme new ones..
I know MK3 (post '96) amd MK4 fit with conversion hoses, but what about Ibizas, Polos (there is a Polo GTI in the local scrappy so it be good if these fit!) Passats etc... what fits and what doesn't?

They're basically the same as mk4 ones but slightly wider
