Electric wing mirror glass removal

Hi peeps anyone know how to take a glass out the elec wing mirrors says in the green Haynes book about "remove the mirror glass by rotating the retainer anti-clockwise" tried poking around but cant do diddily,in the past I just pulled the mirror off unclipped itself more or less on mk2 am I doing something wrong dont want to break anything many thanks...

just get your fingers behind the glass and it pulls out.

Thanks for that did give it a fair bit of pressure but didnt seem like it wanted to pop out will have another go cheers..
