Would a proper spare fit in the boot well?

Yes and no!

Diameter-wise it will fit, but depth-wise the alloy will stand proud slightly. This is why I will use it in conjunction with a boot install

I thought Jer had tyres with the alloys, but I'm sure we could work something out

dont mean to sound stupid but wont the prescara's weigh more that the spare? doubt it would make much difference in performance though

With what I have planned for the boot, the extra weight of the spare is the least of my worries. I'm more concerned about the sub, sub box, mdf and fibreglass

aha well hurdy its a sacrifice that you will not be disapointed with.....although... ive always had subs and amps in my cars and this is the first car that i havnt got one in, and to be honest i dont really miss it.

if you are not on a price budget then may I recomend for your sub an alpine type X, they are carbon fiber and are alot lighter than normal alpine subs and also alot louder, i think they go up to around 3000w.

count me in Hurdy , I will go in for a single wheel/tyre (ummarked) as a backup one.
Although we'd need to agree a price + thats also dependent slightly on the type of tyre/tread left fitted 
and the prcie will have to be right lol
