Digifant Chips on eBay for ?50
« on: 22 March 2004, 10:18 »
Just ordered one myself ... the auctioneer seems a nice genuine guy and will answer any of your questions.

For ?50 i'd say they're a steal - comparitive to Superchips etc but your not paying ?250 for the name !!!

Snap 'em up and enjoy no "digi - lag" ever again !!!

I thought the same - it appears he got talking to a tuner who has the binary code for a bespoke chip ... not hard to program a chip really once you have the code .... especially if you work in IT.

He's had a few made up - got 2 in his Golf's and floggin the others to make a few quid. He's from an Engineering background the same as me and knew what he was talking about.

Drop him a mail if you're unsure ... and the chip only changes fuel and timing maps so can't do any damage.

Let me know how it performs when you get one ;)

In principle 'Yes' - although the guy has said he's not seen any dramatic increase in fuel comsuption in his own cars. Both are PB engines.

Also, alot depends on how you drive as the modifications only really effect full or '3/4' throttle action - in which case you'll be using loasda fuel anyway !!

I'll keep you posted ....

Hello peps,

Chip turned up in the post today - installed it as soon as I got to work !!! Working in IT got all the chip pulling tools etc and 'disater recovery' tools for when you slip with that screw driver !!!!  ;D

Nice eays job - all put back, ECU cleared, started no troubles and as usual purrs like a kitten ... all that remains is the test drive to see the difference!

I'll take her for a spin @ lunch, so I'll let you boys know how it goes ... There's still 2 chips going on the auction so if you fancy one be quick !!!!
