Obviously depends on the condition of the car and paintwork etc. but £7,000 sounds about right to me for that year and spec.

cheers, its just that some of my mates say its expensive for an 02 plate.and £7000 is my budget.

im gonna have a look at it, ive seen 2 silver gt tdi 130's, both 5 door and 1 owner cars with under 60k on the clock.asking same prices.

i need a diesel again, getting 25 to 30mpg out of my 2.0, miss the economy, especially with the government hammering us again on fuel prices.but dont get me started on that one lol.

merry xmas !!!

Parkers say for an 02 plate GT 130 you're looking at £7,115 for a good one. Take a look and see if the car is any good first. Hopefully you'll be able to haggle him down a bit.

Check that the right oil has been used as it's a common problem with these cars.

Know what you mean about fuel economy. I've been looking at getting something similar myself, though would go for the GT 150 personally.

If your gonna remap 150 is not worth the extra and I am speaking from owning a 150.  The 130 map is much more aggresive and will make the same bhp with a map

thanks, ive just done an insurance quote on one of the cars ive seen.

ive put the reg number of the car advertised in the quote, and the quote is telling me that the car is a golf se tdi 100 ????? yet the car is advertised as a gt tdi 130.

whats this all about? how can i tell if the car is definetely a gt tdi 130.as ive ben told it doesnt say on the log book.

is there any visible differences in the interior or engine bay.

cheers, al

easiest way is to look under the boot mat - you're looking for ASZ and 96kW to confirm that it is a 130.

130's rule

I would say it could be a PD100 remapped to just over 130bhp so best steer clear of that one! anyhow SE's don't have colour coded door protectors and GT's do. ;)  unless they ae painted! ;)
