Well i drove it to work and back today and it dont sound like anythings wrong.

The only thing that i know is wrong and that aint engine related is this squeeking sound.

my 50p bet is on your brake light switch; £8 to replace :afro:

Come back from garage. And guess what sod all wrong with it lol.

He said it thought it might bit what you said rhyso. But no.

Now hes wondering how to get rid of the flashing thing. Any of you guys know owt?

A guy said to me trying cleaning your airfilters out. I will give it ago lol

Ok its been a few weeks since i said this happend. And i still have it flashing up. I was ment to take it around mates house who has fault reader but never got around to it.

Last night my mate notiched that headlight is out on the right front. Its the 2 small ones.

This could of been like this for weeks for all i know lol.

You reckon this is why its done the engine workshop ?

its possible.

Was reading the other day that they tend to throw up the worst possible codes even for bulbs as a safety feature  :undecided: its to make sure you attend to the problem ASAP!

Don't have scare the sh!t out of you though!!  :laugh:

I am guessing its a simple stright forward thing to replace any way.

I am off to motor mania in few mins to get some. I think its the 2 small ones thats gone not the bigger one on the right.

Yes they do scare. It should not say engine workshop. It should actually say the fault lol.

Well what an awful fiddley job that was lol. I got the new bulb in all working it is. But i cant get the spring clip back in lol.

I tested to see if the fault code has gone but no luck.

you need a fault code reader, i think changing the headlight bulbs is one of the hardest jobs on a mk4!!! its a nightmare!!!

My mate come over yesturday with his fauly code checker. Hes got a 2000 tdi modded to hell lol.

So we plug it in and it comes up with this code 16955.

He checks it on the computer when he gets home.

And he says is the code for brake switch. Ahahahahahh why couldent the guy who my dad knows tell me that lol.

So its the break light switch need replacing lol.

is there meant to be a light on the dash come up when a light blows?

i had a break light go out the other week and the only way i found out was a mate that was following me out of work told me about it
a work in progress......someday i might think i'm happy with a car....maybe
