The three point rear seat belts were as rare as hen's teeth. I'm not sure if they were factory in the USA or not, but in order for them to work there would need to be an anchor point welded in behind the seats. I seem to recall a thread on VWvortex years ago about this. Unfortunately for you, the cab is over !

all cabs from 1991 in america had to have three point rear seatbelts! and it does involve welding being done to your car! if you want to get it done you need to source the parts from america and they are quite available on vortex website in the mk 1 cab section!

There are child seats out there that only require a lap belt for securing down, have a shop around, will chat with my miss's as she used to sell em just to clarify this.

Wife wasn't impressed, she claims 3 points needed for child safety, although han's link looks pretty good, def a cheaper and safer way to avoid a new car or serious welding.

3 points are the way forward and it is possible at an expense. tbh i think the harness for lapbelts is best... or just pay.. tbh i'd prefer to pay for 3 points to be fitted
safety, peace of mind, and a wife tat wont whinge!!

yep as said 3 points for cabbies only avail in the US post 91, good luck finding a set! You need to weld in a pair of support brackets plus find all the related gubbins.
