I had my GT 130 for 12 months and it really held its money, I think it was £14800 retail, and I traded it in for £13600, which is pretty good for a rather bland looking Polo. But the VW dealer said he would have a buyer in a few days - it was that sought after!
It was one of the few cars Ive owned that I would have felt abit uneasy driving with out ESP. I paid £500 to have it as an option. It did look mega bland, in the wrong colour. I had it in silver and it did look good in IMHO. But I like understated, I think the GTI is abit understated too. I would put money it is faster ingear that the previous Polo GTI. 0-60 was quoted as somthing like 9.2 seconds, but a car mag about 2004 time (cant remember which one), got 8.0 secs dead out of it! Still got the mag some place.
I would say it is an excellent second hand buy if you can get a good one, they dont handle massivly well, but in the straights you will have so much fun!
