mpg on the motorway
« on: 16 December 2007, 23:51 »
few to many police on the motorway today , so on a long trip I decided to 'cruise' and see how good the car can be mpg wise.
Reset the trip on the average and tried each for around 50 miles motorway

@ 70 mph = 35 MPG
@ 80 mph = 32 MPG
@ 85 mph = 28 MPG

all speedo numbers btw

car at 1800 miles

how do these compare with everyone elses numbers?

remap sooner rather than later , as I miss cruise control

and yes Im sad

Just got 35.8mpg on a 40 mile cruise, including a little town driving, at 115kph - 1100 miles on the clock

In town and traffic it's generally around 24mpg though...  No cold weather here, so having the a/c on and sunroof open zaps it a bit...

dont know if this cold weather has any part to play in it......

it will do as your car will spend longer warming up; thus using more fuel
