Sleep tight R32

As some of you may have noticed, i have not been as active lately. Unfortunately I had to go in for a Op on Thursday (old footie injury that needed fixing) which just happens to be on my left knee (hides from obvious comments from DSG owners) which means the R32 is going to be parked up for a couple of months :cry:. Just my luck as it happens to get all wet and slippy i am not going to get a chance to show up all you FWD owner :rolleyes:

However I remember hearing that its obviously not a good idea to leave your car parked up for long periods (esp during winter). Is there anything I should be doing to ensure the car stays in the best of health whilst hibernating this winter??  :undecided:

2-3 months without driving is going to be hard enough.. i will just have to stare at it sat in the garage everyday :embarassed:

Having a DSG would have solved your problem  :laugh:

2 - 3 months without being able to drive...if i could i would come and sulk with you as thats how long i need to wait for my R to come....best of luck with ur injury, get better mate  :smiley:

Maybe you could 'exercise' his car for him and get a foretaste of whats to come  :rolleyes:

Take it down to VW dealer and say you'd like to swap it for a DSG please :wink:

Then IF you haven't been converted in 2 months and say you'd like to swap it back :wink:

over inflate yout tyres to prevent flat spots

give me your keys every other weekend to make sure the battery keeps its charge and keep the cobwebs away :afro:

Thanks guys!! I think it maybe too late to over inflate the tires as im already on these blasted crutches. As for the DSG jokes.. well i knew they were coming so i got my dad to lend me his MB auto triptronic (dsg copy thingy). I have selected all four gear and hope fully they will all engage in sync as I finally learn how to walk again.

Its in the garage which i can fortunately access without going outside, so I will be popin in and out to say goodnight everynight. Maybe even fire her up and scare the neighbours occasionally! :evil:

Yeah, but just make sure you don't sit there for too long enjoying that V6 burble otherwise you might get overcome by the exhaust fumes and not be posting anything on here again  :shocked: :shocked:   :grin: :grin: :grin: :grin: :grin:

Hi mate,hope your off the crutches soon :smiley:

As for starting the car etc,dont bother,as modern oil keeps it protected for months on end without starting her,and will produce more condensation/cream etc as the heat and a good run out will not evaporate the moisture in the engine.As for tyres its 2007 and rubber now a days are very robust and the correct pressures will be fine.Leave the handbrake off,put in first gear and leave her to rest. press in clutch every week,but prob not ness.

If you have the money,a mid of range car cover to keep her warm :grin:

Hope this helps,used to leave my Clio 172 cup for up to 3 weeks in Aberdeen B.P car park to go offshore,come back,warm her up,fill with fresh shell v power and thrash the arse off her home to the toon{South Shields} and never had any prob in 35000 miles.

Get well then trash and enjoy!!!!
