well mainly its me only. the old lead foot its quite heavy  and i know that wont do me any favours  (so cool if it helped)

....but id like 2 know for normal driving in town and motorway if possible?

I was just pointing out that Drivers are 8V's as well as the GTi 8V's 

Well, my 1.6 Driver makes it to Leicester and back (160miles round trip) on less than £40 and driving to work and back for a week (50~ miles a week), so thats well over 200 miles on less than £40.

at a steady 70mph get 45mpg all day long above these speeds...can go as low as 30mpg...pretty good for a 8v gti....lowest ive had was 27mpg on a more sporting run shall we say

my old 16v was at 70mph about 34-36mpg and could get as low as 15mpg

I don't know about you lot, but my 1.3 Mk2 is THIRSTY compared to my 1.6TD Passat.
