handbrake!
« on: 13 December 2007, 15:16 »
Ive heard of peoples rear brake calipers siezing on but....... when i finished my nightshift last night i got into my nice cold car only to find my handbrake was stuck on or should i say frozen on!!!!!!

what a b!tch! it took ages to to free off and stunk like a badgers armpit!

i think ill be leaving it in gear when its that cold in future.....i.e. tonight.

could this of happened purely because of the cold? maybe i went through some water before parking up? or?????????

My old white one used to do this all the time and then failed the next MOT on knackered calipers.

Same! Made a couple of slow roundabouts and corners interesting as i could feel the back dragging round

My door handle also snapped that morning (4am), i can only assume it was due to being brittle in the -4 degrees that we had

press the foot brake aswel when the MOT tester shouts ''handbrake on''

a hammer and WD40 free's them up SOMETIMES.
Disconnect your handbrake cables to see if they free up. They could be seized.

I have to leave mine in gear. Dont drive too long with it stuck on. Last time my rear brake nearly caught fire!

Im running mk3 calipers and they have seized. If your looking to upgrade then get mk4 ones
