Can I make my GTI 4wd

Hi there. I have been thinking of this for a while. Can I make my GTI 4 wheel drive?

To me the price of the R32 is pointless. The R32 in icelands costs just as much as a bmw m3.

it would cost more to build your car to 4wd!! you would nee a whole new gearbox and drive shaft!! also with all the extra weigh from all the extra parts your car would be alot slower. if you wanted a 4wd then why buy a gti??  :huh: :huh: :undecided:

Simple answear is there really is zero point in making your GTi 4wd.

If you are wanting a bit more in the traction department, the only really viable solution would be to have a Limited slip differential fitted.  :nerd:

If you are wanting a bit more in the traction department, the only really viable solution would be to have a Limited slip differential fitted.  :nerd:

I was on the quaife website, they do a limited slip diff for the gti, its about 550 quid, not to bad, but has anyone got a rough idea how much it would cost to get it fitted??? I would love one on my ed30 :smiley:

Yeah will do but I am expecting quite a large figure as I believe it involves quite a lot of labour.
