Hi guys,
I've had a bit of a nightmare this weekend. Noticed a small oil leak from the top of my oil cooler which quickly progressed to a really bad oil leak which pissed oil all over the road outside my house. After a trip to my local VW dealer I got a new seal to go onto the top of the oil cooler and thought I'd change the oil filter and oil at the same time.
So fitted the new seal, filled the car up with 10w 40 part synthetic magnatec and started it up, oil leak fixed but found I had split a coolant hose when taking the cooler off. Cut the hose back and refitted it (temporary fix I'll get a new one on monday).
The problem I have now is that the car seams to be running hot and the oil light on the dash keeps flashing but not continuously it just fickers on and off.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?? Could I have fitted the cooler back wrong?? or maybe there's another problem that caused the seal to go in the first place? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated?
