I F*@KIN HATE THESE!!!!!

having had afew issues with knackered coolant pipes im going to halfords tomoz to get a full cars worth of jubilees clips to go with my new pipes as im getting abit pissed with spending as much time getting these little twits on/off as whatever job it is i want to do.

 :grin: I just use either pliers or mole grips to compress them, then slide the clip into the most convenient place to hold it - either further down the pipe or on the joint. Then recompress and slide it back into place when you're finished.

After a bit of practice it's easy now and i even find them less hassle than trying to get a screwdriver into an obscured jubilee clip.

i bought some stupidly expensive pliers escpecially for them clips!

Saves so much time though, can have them off and out the way in seconds

ive bought a complete set of new hoses so im gonna change the whole lot. there are some right gits to get at with pliers, mole grips, swannose pliers etc so once their off a jubilee clip is going back in its place!

What technique do you use to ease the old hoses off. I cant shift my heater hoses. Also can you put up a picture of the special pliers. Cheers.

a flat blade screwdriver, nothing too sharpe, ease under the pipe and work around it... a little persuasion should see it off... id upgrade samco style then it doesnt matter if you damage one lol
