Question in relation to remaps you've done
« on: 07 December 2007, 11:29 »
Some people here done an up to 300hp remap, but without exchanging intercooler for a bigger one.
Tuning firms did not suggest a bigger intercooler? It is not important for 300hp remaps?

Not strictly necessary unless you live in a relatively hot climate. You will lose some of the extra oomph on a hot day. If I considered it a necessity I would probably go for the Twintercooler that Forge do, although I haven't even looked to see if it would be compatible with the ED30 Intercooler yet.

i am not convinced with the need, i have seen two 1.8t go at it head to head on a 1/4mile and the times were almost indent, only dif were the cars one being a mk4 gti and other a toledo but the golf had a intercooler, maybe for trackdays i would be tempted but would need to be doing a few.
