Where Can I Get A De-Cat For My MK2? The Cat That is On my Car Is Rattling And I Need To Sort it Out.
But thought that i could De-Cat it And Gain A Few More Horses Aswell.

it probably aint a cat then, all cars pre 1991 werent required to have one..i just get a straight replacement for exhaust can thats pooped. kwit fit will sort it for cheap, or go gsf and fit it yourself.

Looking on etka a PF engined car is actually fitted with a cat by the looks of it, a pretty rare option!!

As for decat pipe i cant say ive ever seen one for a mk2 although i would be tempted to try one from a mk3 to see if that fits, if not then get yourself a 4 branch manifold for a mk3 and it will fit then

PF, is that the 16v engine?

If so, a 16v Corrado de-cat would probably do the job  :smiley:

8v by the looks of it, uses same block as pb and is ran on digi but makes less power!

Yeah that another reason why i want to replace it. Ive just recieved a de-cat from e-bay, and the flange at the front will meet, but the back of the pipe is too long, and too big for the rest of the system, im thinking of going to an exhaust fitter, and asking if they can make me a reducer pipe to fit.

yup cats were a rare factory fit option, and as said the PF code is the MK2 digi with a cat.  The 16v cat engine code was PL just fyi!

Once you've done that, unplug the lambda probe and get an ECU from a std non-cat MK2 GTI, should see you a few more horses!

Could I Leave the standard ECU On As it is Chipped Already? Just Reset It So The New Settings Will Take Effect?
