Motorpoint buyers beware!
« on: 05 December 2007, 15:12 »
Hi,
I paid a deposit on a 06 black Golf GTI from Motorpoint Derby last thurs. We were told that it would be on site and ready for a test drive/viewing on Monday. We arrived on Monday, only to be told that the car was not there and still in between sites! We were not pleased as we'd sold our car privately and it was being collected the same night!
Anyway, I rang Motorpoint back monday evening and demanded to know where the car was. I was told that it was on site and in the compound. Unfortunately, due to the imcompetence of the staff, they could'nt get the keys. Utter lie and I asked for an explanation. Eventually, we were told that it was having a minor scratch repair at a local bodyshop and that it would be ready for Tuesday. I was also told it was touch and go whether they did the reapir as it was ever so light scratch.
We went back on Tuesday and I checked the car over with a magnet and a keen eye. The passenger door paint was all rippled and orange peel effect, it also contained body filler! Not exactly a scratch then! Also the wing mirror casing was smashed.
I asked for my deposit back and left a very bitter and dissappointed person. They'd deliberatlely lied and deceived us. Ultimately, I've lost the sale of our car, can't fing another 3 door black GTI and messed us around with loans, travelling and Tesco tokens. So Motorpoint buyer beware! You have been warned!

Yup I had a problem with Motorpoint a couple of years ago with a Nissan Almera which was 2 years older then they stated and full of rust. I got a full refund including the tank of petrol that was in it. They were scared i'd call the local papers !

Anyway please buy Joe's GTI so that he can buy my ED30......
