Wiper only works on super speed

Seen a few topics for wipers recently, but thopught i'd add my own.
I found my car with a flat battery on Monday and jumped it yesterday. Everything was working fine until i tried to turn the wiper on, it only works on the fastest setting.
The rear wiper, intermittent and slow setting don't work.
I'm useless when it comes to electrics, has anyone had any similar problems?

First, I'd take the stalk off and give all the copper contacts a really good clean and polish with some WD40 as it sounds like the whole wiper stalk is playing up.

After that I'd replace the wiper relays in the fusebox.

After that I'd get a new stalk off ebay.


In the meantime if you take some amphetamines your eyes and senses in general will speed up and "sync-in" with the wipers. However, this is illegal.

i was planning on changing the relays
and i forgot that i had a spare stalk lying about - will swap that over as soon as i get a socket set big snough to take the wheel off

To save you some cash... Halfords sell the sockets (24 or 22mm ??) separately.

^^^ nice one didnt know that! need a 24mm socket lol! been mean in to chang my s/wheel for ages
