Just read this bit:

"To determine if this kit is the correct application for your car, first find your factory shift bracket assembly located on the top of your transmission. This bracket is visible by looking below your airbox and battery. Inspect the stock cable linkage that connects to the factory bracket. If the stock cable has a black endlink and no clip, your car has a ball stud mount and this is the correct kit for your car. "

So black end link and no clip can you help further on this? Sorry for being thick its just dont want to get it wrong!!

if u look down on the left hand side of the battery is ,u can see a silver metal stickin up  the same shape as the neuspeed shifter and if u look further u can see the black end link which u can jus take off and see if u can see the ball stud end ....

Not quite as good as that one, but I bought the linkage off the TT for mine.  £23 so can't complain, though.

it will shorten the gear changes by 30%-35% ...... so basically mean u will accelerate faster if u  fitted one of these.... also make the car more pleasure to drive .....

I mean not as short.  Maybe a 15% reduction in the throw???  :undecided:

Also, initially, the gear lever was sticking a little when coming out of reverse, but its eased off now.  Still not as perfect as the OE, but nothing nobody couldn't live with.  Def worth a go for £23-24!!  (From Audi dealer).

Fairly easy to fit, just a bit fiddly, that's all.  Took about 15-20 mins to get right.  Need to take the airbox off first, though (2 mins).

pps  The latest ones that come from Audi don't fit some of the early Golf boxes, so you'll need to do some homework first.
