my 91 gti mk2 16v blew its rad after a stone of a lorry hit it this morning anyways i need a new rad!!!

so i ring VW to get price.... he says i need the licence plate to give you the price so i give it to him.... oooppps he says.... there are 3 differnet rads for the gti16v... ill need the engine code...which i give to him.... well that hasnt made the slightest bit of difference he says there are still 3 different rads for your car.... ill need the vin plate number... so i give him that and still he says there are 3 different rads for you car.....

ok well you better send me all 3 and ill see which one fits! they arrived this morning and none of them fit!!!! so vw say could you mearsure up the old rad and we will go from there!! so i do and it turns out there is a forth rad which was made for the golf but not specifically for the gti!!!

what a bloody carry on!!! so the 4th one is on its way heres hoping that i get one that fits!

I wonder if the 4 radiators are the following:

Non GTI
8V GTI
16V GTI
G60/Rallye

And maybe by 91 they were getting rid of large stocks of everything ready for Mk3 production, and shoved any old thing on any car.

As an aside - can you post the part number that finally fits. I got my money on it starting 357 (i think).
