I see your point , and from Oettinger its TUV approved too.

However cat back isnt maximising the 'exhaust' component , so in theory the Oettinger kit with Milltek would be even more power! (although without an LSD I'd have to question at what point >300 bhp becomes useable)

That and the fact Milltek has a great reputation , so its bound to be quite an improvement power and delivery wise.

Must be a lot for £1200 though ! maybe its a 4inch bore lol

lets see....

I think 330hp is ENOUGH power, don't you?  I want to use my car everyday also, you know.
Naa, I thought about Milltek, I waited for Milltek, but now I see no point in buying it.

Im just thinking.. all these little add ons soon add up dont they! Why not just buy an S3 or something in the first place?? Are forgetting that making our cars faster does not mean that we are improving the driving enjoyment we get. For some people speed seems to be everything, either that or beating the next driver they come across. Are we really that dissatisfied with the speed of the original car??

Yes, but:-

Fair point. And tbh who doesnt want more power. But lets say we all drove Saxo's... wouldnt it be stuff like this that got us promoted to the super chav bracket?? :lipsrsealed:

For me 200BHP is more than enough. Im not a boy racer and nor am i interested in racing some idiot at the lights. I just let them get on with it. For me its about comfort and knowing that i've got the power when i need it. Im soon going to get my gti bluefined which will take it to 240BHP but in reality its not needed.

I think cosmetic mods such as adding bigger wheels, colourcoding, sat nav are ok because they add to the cars visual look but i think changing exhausts, engine tuning etc are a bit over the top if you dont plan on racing and they can look chavy at times.

In reality you end up no different from the corsa and saxo boys (only difference is the choice of cars)

All these extra costs add up alot at the end of the day and they wount hold the value of the car up. I've probably spent around £3,000 so far on mods and little stuff which is alot but then again this is my first sporty type of car as im young. I think i future im going to either get a car which is already charged (R32 or S3) or go for a diesel and save some money for a change.

But each to their own.

even with these improvements E30 will be cheaper than S3. And besides, I'd soup up S3 to 330hp as well!!!
If I could afford S3 when I bought my E30, I'd get S3, absolutely no doubt (even though it is overpriced in my opinion).
It's not the top speed, and not who is faster from the light that counts, but the IDEA and KNOWLEDGE that you have some REAL POWER under the bonet!  :nerd: I am very satisfied with E30 in original form, but my hands are itching and the devil in my head tells me: "get some more, do it, do it!"

330BHP in a front wheel car
Thats like suicide isnt it

Yeah.....but what a way to go

Wouldnt that much power in a front wheel drive car cause torque steer ?
And would that power really be passed down to the ground or wasted like the VXR's ?
I was always told that 250BHP is the limit for FWD....

Traction control is going to be working over-time all the time isnt it.

Fair point. No harm in doing it. But where do you draw the line?? Some people have so many after market mods that its just not fair to call them a golf any more. I am happy with my car and dont feel the need to do anything to it... if I did then I would only be doing it to show other people up as you said. in addition to which i will begin lookin for a new car approx 18 months time.. which is where I will be able to adddress any issues that I feel have come up during my time owning the R32.

p.s. I think there is only going to be one... juice

It is all relative to how you use the power. If you charge off the line like a bull, then you will get torque steer and you will not be able to use all the power. If you are progressive from a start and then utilise the power you'll be fine. :nerd:
