MY MAN

thought I might find you here after the text earlier, hope this thing isnt giving you too many headaches...
from what i know (as you know this aint alot) you will get that Hall Sensor error code when the ignition is swtiched on and the motor isnt running because there is no signal being sent to the ecu from the sensor...
here's what I have found hope it helps, this one is not VW specific but looks like the camshaft position sensor will cause a non start
2113 (Blink Fault Code), 00515 VAG1551/2 Fault Code Number
(G40) Hall sensor in distributor
(3B, early AAN engines) or camshaft position Hall Effect sensor later S4/S6 AAN engine).
Distributor alignment, faulty sender, Mis-located sensor & distributor, Cam timing possibly incorrect on AAN engine, Check lower Crankshaft Gear keyway
Symptom: Engine will not start, power loss, check engine light may come on during driving above certain RPMHave you got a Bentley manual? if not download one from the link in the mk4 forum there's a proper VW procedure for checking the camshaft sensor, here's a snippet of one of the checks...

and this is where the sensor is

I'm sure there is a way of checking the sensor while cranking the engine with an LED light hooked up but can't find the procedure
give me buzz if you need any help buddy
