That thing is huge. Tell me....

What effect does a larger intercooler have on a car? Just help with cooling?

Air coming from the turbo is hot due to compression and the mechanics of the turbo. An intercooler cools this air before it goes into the cylinders. Because cold air is denser than hot air you can squeeze more into the cylinder thus allowing the engine to perform more efficently. Or something like that.

....Very much "something like that"

You'll notice how much faster the stock GTI feels when the weather (and air) is cooler - All for the same reasons.

This is why some times 0-60 timings and top speed clocking is done in the early hours of the morning

dont want to be a kill joy but the intercooler from radtec for the focus ST is even bigger than this one, anysize intercooler will not give you 1bhp extra, just help keep temps down, in not so sunny england a 3inch downpipe will give a real power gain forget a catback (sounds better) but does nothing or a 100cell sportcat which keeps your dashboard iluminated. ED30 ecu upgrade 3" turbo downpipe is the way to go.
black ED30, ipod, tints, armrest, superchips ecu upgrade. very good looking. manchester united season ticket holder since 1984, been to over 40 european away games.
