What products do you guys recommend for a showroom finish.  :undecided:

well i use the following:

P21S Bodywork Conditioning Shampoo
P21S Concours Look Carnauba Wax
P21S Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser
P21S Super-Absorbing Drying Towel With Case
Meguiars Hot Shine Tyre Spray
Meguiars NXT Generation Glass Cleaner
Meguiars Hot Rims Wheel Cleaner
Meguiars Lambs Wool Wash Mitt

...and thats just the exterior

oh ye and around 2/3 hours of my free time

and do you know what the best thing about it is; it starts raining within an hour of me cleaning it

Bloody hell...why use paintwork cleanser and a bodywork shampoo...aren't they both just cleaning agents???

No.

Paintwork cleaner is applied after the car is washed and dried.
The Paintwork Cleanser is a thick, rich, white creamy pre-wax polish that removes contaminants and adds essential emollients back into the paint and prepares the paint for the Wax.

The wax is a lot easier to apply when the car has a layer of polish already. The shine lasts for longer aswell inbetween washes.

When you apply the cleanser you can feel that the paintwork is a lot more silky and smoother and then the wax just glides on.

(You might think this is a longwinded process but its nowt really. If you REALLY want to be serious about keeping your car looking top-notch then you should clay it aswell)

I'm hardly looking for exclusivity by buying a VW...if I was...I would have bought...a Lada.

But, still it's dark most of the time, inpurities won't show as well.

Im just gonna go to one of those hand car wash places and let them do the hard work...

then maybe come home and give it some of the autoglym car polish!! job done!

I don't trust any of them to so much as look at my car let alone touch it... probably come back with swirls all over it and a couple of scratches to boot too - as a bonus

not exclusivity exclusivity, but standing out from the mass...
but then if you like black, you like black, it's the taste thing. THough, I believe, lots of black-car owners choose, consciously or subconsciously, the black as the safest color.

regards Black I have found I have had to 'step up' my quality of washing.
2 bucket method mandatory and specific gear just for the ED30, so far its keeping the swirls at bay.

For a quick result , I find a wash and a quick going over with Megs Quick Detailer works wonders

as for colours I guess we all have our own opinions
but then that wont matter when the black uns speed past .......(being quicker n all )

GTI is a great car , and I love it
