Steering Wheel Off Centre
« on: 28 November 2007, 08:54 »
Alreet Guys,

1. My steering wheel is a little off centre and is about 5-10 degrees to the left. How can i correct this?

2. My steering feels light. Can i get it firmed up a little?

3. Also, what tyre pressures do you guys use on your 18s?

These problems emerged after my accident and didnt bother me until now.

The off centre wheel can be corrected, firstly get the car's tracking checked, i.e. a 4 wheel alignment, in a reputible service centre. That will ensure all 4 wheels are tracking correctly. If the wheel is still off centre the wheel can be removed and turned the correct amount. There is a DIY some where, I did it myself a while back.

What kind of accident did you have?

I think the worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades. Especially if your teammates are bad guessers.

Dont know really, its just something that is like one of those little things which starts small and then just gets in your head and only ends by it being sorted.

I've been intouch with a local VAG cars specialist who said he will do me a 4 wheel alignment and correct the steering wheel to the correct neutral position all for £40.

Planning on getting it bluefined shortly so want everything right

Simpler solution: you can imagine that you drive a disguised Lambo (they have steering wheels not dead infront of the driver).
