19" Wheels
« on: 26 November 2007, 14:08 »

Has anyone got 19's fitted and have you noticed any difference in handling, steering and have you encountered any issues? The car looks like it could easily take them but I don't want to buy a new set of wheels only to find they ruin the car.

Also has anyone got the Eibach Pro Kit with them?

Cheers

235/35/19 tyres should keep the gearing the same, I think  :undecided:
For 18" you would need 225/40/18. I'm sure someone will know for sure

Wow. Thats done it for me, they look amazing and completely fill the arches. Not much rubber but then I only use the car at the weekends so the chances of damaging the wheels is reduced.

The price they give seems a bit low though for 4 wheels a tyres.

I've fitted 19" BBS CH's and Eibach coilovers, you can get a small amount of rubbing at the front, the wheel arch liner retaining screw just kisses the tyre sometimes, this is easily rectified by removing the screw and tucking the liner behind the mounting flange. Although the picture below is before the suspension was fitted.

....I've driven a GTI on 19" BBS CH's and they felt absolutely fine - Not so hard it was any problem. It had stock suspension though but remapped 265 bhp.

Thanks for the comments, Wheels look great Gaz. Some 19" wheels are in my near future. I collect the car from the bodyshop wednesday, when the colour coding should be done. I'll put the new springs on and search for some wheels.
