АPR have an intercooler kit for DSG, I just saw it on their webpage.

Also, I just went and ordered Forge DV.  :lipsrsealed: I wonder who is going to install it, since "my" mechanic is Italian, does not speak English.  I wonder if I were to do Oettinger remap at their HQs would they be able to install the DV?  :undecided:

Here are the instructions that Forge give on a PDF on how to fit a DV if you are confident enough.

....Definitely do-able but probably not to be undertaken by someone who hasn't got some mechanic experience. I've read of instances of peeps getting it wrong at home (in the States) in their back yard. Ideally you need a high ramp.

I believe that the APR intercooler must have an appropriate map upgrade added.

Any more info on this RedRobin?
On the one hand the OE I/C is good and diff to improve  , but then again the APR is so much different it needs a remap?
Im confused lol

Bl00dy hell.. this is beginning to pee me off... is there anything else you can't do with a dsg car?

APR Intercooler Kit 2.0T FSI
APR has designed the best intercooler upgrade for your 2.0T FSI engine as found in the VW GTI, Jetta and EOS. Charge air cooling is essential to maintaining powerful and safe operation of a turbocharged engine and as performance is increased, so must the efficiency of the intercooler. The APR FSI Intercooler is a perfect OEM intercooler replacement with an intercooler core size almost three times the size of the original unit.

- Cast Aluminum End Tanks
- Bar and Plate Core Design
- Silicone Pressure Hoses
- Direct OEM Fitment - NO Trimming Necessary
- Fits ANY Stock or Aftermarket Bumper Cover
- Adaptor Coupler for Stock Plumbing

Note: Not suitable for cars with DSG

....Bear in mind that the stock intercooler is considered to be particularly good on the stock car. Forge had quite a lot of difficulties improving it in their product development. Also, the climate you drive in should be a consideration. I believe that the APR intercooler must have an appropriate map upgrade added.

More and more peeps offering mods are turning their attention to DSG. It's still a new and relatively expensive car in the UK market for owners to be prepared to spend, and also it's a great car as standard anyway.

Bit confused now as the aftermarket manufacturers like APR and Forge clain that there intercoolers are a massive improvement on stock?!

....Well, they want to sell their products.

I better not mention any names but a few months ago I spoke to someone at Forge about the intercooler and they advised me not to bother for road use in the UK and someone else at Forge on another occasion said that they only made improvements after much effort.

At the moment I can't find that info about APR remap - I may have got it wrong - I'll keep looking.
